Steps for Chemotherapy Hair Loss
Step 1 Call, text or email to book your initial consultation as soon as possible, preferably before treatment begins and your hair begins to change. This meeting can take place in Dorchester or Weymouth, or a home visit in some circumstances may also be possible.
STEP 2 Initial consultation (approx 30 mins) consists of colour matching your hair and discussing style, shape and length. During this meeting we will be able to discuss and answer all your worries, concerns and questions that you may have at the beginning of this journey and explain how you will be guided throughout and beyond.
STEP 3 Following the initial consultation, a selection of wigs are ordered specifically for you based on your style, colour and preference. Wigs are usually ordered within a couple of days and received ready for you to try within a week or less, at which point we schedule our next appointment.
STEP 4 Fitting appointment. This is when you will get to see and try the wigs specifically chosen for you. It is usually in this first fitting appointment that a suitable wig is found, and if necessary personalised to suit you i.e. with fringe cut or fullness reduced. All aspects of aftercare are also explained to help you keep your new hair looking good.
Occasionally suitability may not be achieved first time around and therefore steps 3 and 4 will be repeated. During this, or any other appointments, your own hair may be cut in preparation or for comfort.
